Our first client was a small Cambridge-based Biotech company working in monoclonal antibody research. Over the years as a result of acquisition, it became part of a large Anglo-Swedish bio-pharm organisation. They remain a client to this day.
Many of our clients start out as small Biotechs and generally, throughout their journey of mergers, acquisition and growth, we stay with them. The material we store for them also evolves; often from cell lines to Drug Substance, needing different storage temperature and indeed storage volumes along the way.
Most of our clients have resulted from the recommendation of others. As a result, our client base has become quite diverse.
We often find ourselves working with universities as a result of their collaboration with our clients. This then results in us working for them on other research projects.
For some clients, who generate large virus or bacteria libraries, in addition to the storage services, we also provide very high levels of inventory management – both in the detail of the inventory data capture but also in the retrieving and retuning/shipping single vials or plates on demand.
